In December 2002 the 4^th centennial of Bartolomeo Mastri from Meldola's birth will take place. Mastri (1602-1673), a philosopher and theologian of the Order of Friar Minor Conventuals, is a prominent representative of the Baroque Scholasticism.

Since this date is approaching, the Municipality of Meldola, the History of Medieval Philosophy Professorship at the Università Cattolica of Milan and the Accademia degli Imperfetti of Meldola have promoted the organization of an international symposium on Mastri's philosophical thought.

The purpose of the symposium is to bring together philosophy historians from all over the world and to encourage them to carry out works on Bartolomeo Mastri's thought. It also aims at sharing knowledge about this author and at drawing the attention of citizens and institutions on a figure who played a significant role in the history of the European culture.

The conference proceedings will be published and related initiatives will be promoted to reach these goals.

The symposium will be held in the Italian towns of Meldola (FC), at the "Dragoni" city theatre, and Bertinoro (FC), at the University residential centre. See below.
